Event Details
Both beginners and experienced gardeners welcome.
During the growing season, March through November, work bees are held to keep up with gardening tasks required in the beds in front of the library, usually followed by educational seminars. Seminar-only meetings are held in January and February. No registration required.
September Work Bee from 4:30p-6:00p
It is time to coax a grand finale from the annual plants, clip back or cut out perennials no longer contributing to the scene, and add new perennials to add interest next year. In addition, we can make permanent our retainer edges that define the arbor. The day calls for hand clippers and rubber gloves for the edging. (We will build our edges out of hypertufa, a material that contains concrete which should not be allowed to contact skin while wet.)
September Seminar/Meeting from 6:00p-8:00p
September's Topic: Children's Areas in Gardens
We'll take a close look at what attracts and entertains kids. This will be a crowd participation session led by Janet Macunovich.
A light dinner will be served between the work bee and seminar.
