Event Details
Due to the impending inclement weather, the February 12th meeting has been canceled.
Both beginners and experienced gardeners welcome.
During the growing season, March through November, work bees to keep up with gardening tasks required in the beds in front of the library, usually followed by educational seminars.
To all Waterford Library Gardeners and everyone interested in gardening:
Come one, come all! We will meet for a 2025 planning and education session.
Together we will fill in the current garden maps - having moved most every perennial as part of the replacement of the wood bed walls with stone, it's time to identify what's where and talk about new additions. (Every garden should have at least a few new things each year!) We will also discuss the proposed schedule for raising the soil level and walkway in the last bed, as it will probably involve some non-Wednesday work.
February seminar topic: Late Winter Pruning
Janet Macunovich will explain why late winter is a good pruning season, what plants can be pruned as spring approaches, and how to cut to keep shrubs small and shapely.
