Valentine by Elizabeth Wetmore
Misogyny and racism are ubiquitous in a Texas oil town in the 70s. After the brutal rape of a Mexican American teen, the town finds itself divided. Told from different points of view, the author shows how a group of women (and girls) navigate the aftermath of the rape and the subsequent trial.

The Evening Book Discussion meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month (excluding August) at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room unless otherwise noted. No registration required.

Standard print copies, as well as books on CD and large print (when possible) will be available on the Saturday after each month’s meeting unless otherwise noted. E-books and e-audio may be available from Download Destination (Libby) and/or hoopla.
